Composed in 1782, published in the 1784 Boyer edition which indicated that the first performance of
the work was at a Concert Spiritual by Maria Theresia von Paradis. A gifted pianist who lost her sight at the age of eight but was remarkably talented and performed professionally in the concert halls of Vienna where she came to the attention of Haydn and Mozart who both composed concertos for her.
