Dvořák Capriccio

Capriccio is a short work which, due to the unwarranted uniformity of its ideas, is not one of the composer’s strongest works. While set within a rondo framework, it is more akin to a piece of loose improvisation. As an occasional work it practically never appears in the repertoire. Composed around June, 1878 with a revision in 1892. Premiered on 22 May 1886, in Plzen by Josef Becvar and Jakub Tichy.
